Thermage

Is Thermage for Skin Toning Right for You?

Thermage is considered cutting-edge in the world of skin health and self-care. Non-invasive and non-surgical, the skin tightening treatment targets saggy skin, fine lines, wrinkles, and minor scars, making them less noticeable with a smoother, firmer, rejuvenated, and younger appearance.

But is it right for you? At Beauty and Body by Mia, we encourage you to indulge and try new things to bolster your confidence and make yourself feel beautiful. Read on to learn about Thermage and make an informed decision on what may work for you.

How Thermage Works and Ideal Candidates

Thermage is a radiofrequency skin rejuvenation and tightening method that uses heat to promote collagen and elastin production. The heat penetrates deep into skin cells, promoting natural contraction and reparation of damaged tissue. As skin heals, new cells form to create a smoother, younger appearance, reducing fine lines, crow’s feet, and wrinkles.

Typically, people begin losing skin elasticity in their 30s and show signs of aging as time goes on. Ergo, most candidates are between 30 and 60, with mild skin looseness and wrinkles.

Areas Thermage Can Target and Treat

As you age, the skin around your eyes bag, your jawline sags to create jowls, and you get wrinkles around your mouth, eyes, and on your neck. You can also wrinkle on your abdomen, thighs, and arms—all places Thermage can target and treat.

The process is versatile, safe, and painless, providing a more comprehensive skin refreshment and tightening solution.

Results and Realistic Expectations

Thermage encourages the production of collagen and elastin within your body, which is a natural process. This means you could see a few noticeable results after the first session, but significant results won’t be apparent for four to six months. As your body works to create new collagen and improve elasticity, you’ll see more evident results, like skin tightening, smoothing, and toning.

This procedure can significantly and positively improve skin firmness and tone. However, you shouldn’t expect immediate dramatic results, as the process is noninvasive, nonsurgical, and natural.

Be aware there could be slight side effects, such as:

  • Tenderness
  • Mild discomfort or soreness
  • Redness or mild swelling
